North Augusta planning commissioners on April 17 signed off on the site plans for each of the three largest components to be developed at Riverside Village starting this summer.

The Charleston Area Justice Ministry held their annual Nehemiah Action meeting at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church where Charleston County School District Board of Trustees members, chairman, and the superintendent were called upon for questions in front of the crowd numbering nearly 1,100. 

The annual Breakfast at the Gallops was held at the Aiken Training Track on Two Notch Road on March 15. The event is a fundraiser for the Aiken Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame and is an opportunity for horse racing fans to see some of the local horses train while having a nice breakfast.

Solar eclipse enthusiasts gathered in Falls Park to catch a glimpse of a partial  eclipse on the afternoon of April, 8, 2024. Onlookers sported heavily-tinted paper glasses, which were necessary to view the sun's harsh rays. 

Hundreds attended the April 6 Grand Tasting of the Florence Wine and Food Festival, which was held in tents on the Florence County Administration Building's parking lot. It raised funds for Help4Kids, which provides food to children in Florence County.
